On September 28th, 2010 - LARA CROFT AND THE GUARDIAN OF LIGHT
will be released with full online support on PlayStation Network for Playstation 3 and Windwos PC through the Steam network.
On the same day Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics will offer a free update for Xbox 360 gamers to download
which will include the introduction of two player online co-op as well as full leaderboard support and
voice chat functionality.
"DLC for us means Downloadable Lara Croft," said Darrell Gallagher, General Manager of Crystal Dynamics.
"It all begins in August with Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light releasing on XBLA and runs through to
the end of the year with the additional packs we will be offering. Oh and be prepared for a few surprises."
Additionally, Crystal Dynamics has announced that from October to December the downloadable Lara Croft campaign
continues with 5 DLC packs available across all formats.
The first three DLC's are expansion packs featuring a combination of all new puzzle, exploration and combat
experiences in the game and new areas to explore. The further two DLC packs are playable character packs, offering
gamers the chance to experience the entire adventure without Lara Croft and Totec and instead with some other
well-known videogame characters...
Crystal Dynamics global brand director Karl Stewart told GameSpot
the online portion of the video game needed more development time before it could live up to the developer's
promises but stressed that the single-player and offline cooperative modes would be delivered complete at launch.
"Everybody's disappointed, but we're also excited. We're making a stand to say we're not going to have somebody
download the game on August 18, play it, and feel like we came in a little under par on the online portion.
It was a tough decision, but I think we made the right decision."

LARA CROFT AND THE GUARDIAN OF LIGHT is currently under development at Crystal Dynamics
and will be distributed by Square Enix Europe through Digital download for Windows PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
LARA CROFT AND THE GUARDIAN OF LIGHT is rated T for Teen by ESRB.
